Route 9 Crossing
When the Riverway, a parkway which evolved into a major arterial street, was carried across busy Route 9 on a bridge constructed in the 1930s, paths in the adjacent parkland were left at ground level. As traffic volume has increased, the Route 9 crossing has become increasingly difficult and unsafe for bicyclists and pedestrians. I strongly support improvements which Dr. Furth and the Brookline Bicycle Committee have proposed for this location. Let it not be said that I oppose everything which Dr. Furth proposes!
